Magnetic separation is an important way for ore beneficiation, like flotation separation.

Flotation separation mainly adopts wet separation method, while magnetic separation is the combination of wet separation and dry separation. Let us learn more about magnetic separation process.

Taking iron ore as an example, in magnetic separation process, magnetic separator plays an important role. First ore is crushed by jaw crusher, and then grinded by ball mill, classified by spiral classifier, separated by magnetic separator according to magnetic intensity differences in non-uniform magnetic field, finally it is discharged as ore concentrate powder. The magnetic field strength is about 400~1200GS, and the rotate speed of magnetic drum is about 60~320r/min. After iron ore being processed, the ore powder quality will be improved, and the content of iron impurity will be increased. If we take this magnetic separation process, ore utilization rate will reach to 90%.
