The manufacturing process of ball mill’s steel ball is roughly divided into two types: the casting and forging, the main difference of them is that their wearable length is not the same. Due to breaking materials, steel balls need to have good wear resistance and sufficient toughness, so when we make steel balls, we usually choose alloy steel, high manganese steel, cast iron, a soldering iron and other materials to make a shape casting, and then match with the appropriate heat treatment technology.
The steel ball of ball mill’s features: in medium and low branded cast ball, wear resistance is poor, broken rate is high and more economical, however, the cost of steel ball is not high, so we generally do not use. Due to the good hardness of high branded casting ball, so the wear resistance is also better and it has a very good application in the cement ball mill, but the toughness of branded high cast ball is bad, it is easily broken in the production process, and the ball has high cost, indirectly increasing the production cost.
Production features of forging steel ball: after heating the metal material, you can forge it into various tools. The forging process can change the internal structure of the metal materials, and improve the mechanical properties of the material. Heating apparatus in the forging production process is essential.
1, according to the main power of the ball mill’s motor, you can determine the desired amount of steel balls.
2, determine and use the diameter and specification of steel ball.
3, measure the matching ratio of the ball mill through surface area of the steel ball.
4, select loaded ball way and liner type by the main function of the steel ball.
